Ten Things Tuesday

1. Today's was my Granny's 88th birthday! I had such a terrific time celebrating with her. She is such a wonderful blessing in my life! (I need to post pictures soon.)

3. I absolutely LOVE that my gym has little TVs on every single piece of exercise equipment. I think it's terrific that you can plug your ear buds in and you have instant entertainment while you work out! So fun!

4. My cat Lucky, hasn't been feeling so "lucky" lately. Please keep the sweet fella in your prayers. He's around 15 years old now and in CRF, which means I might have to make a pretty tough decision soon if he continues to decline. He is such a sweet, sweet boy; I'm hoping he hangs in there a while longer and improves.

5. Rosie, the puppy is now bigger than Mykelti! She grew up like a little weed.

6. Tomorrow, my mom and I are planning to make the most fabulous diaper cake for my niece's upcoming baby shower! We found so many cute ideas on Pinterest!

7. I really need to get my hair done soon! I'm a firm believer that nothing makes a woman feel much more terrific than a great trip to the salon to lift her spirits a bit! :)

8. I got my flu shot yesterday. If you haven't had yours yet, consider going to get it done, especially if you live with or care for people with compromised immune systems. It protects against three strains of flu.

9. Currently reading: "The Eleventh Plague". It's pretty good so far; I will do a literature review on it once I've finished the book up. So far, it reminds me a bit of the TV series, "Revolution".

10. I am proud that it was announced the candidate I voted for just won another term (according to the electoral college votes thus far anyways). (Keep in mind that I am a Centrist.)  I voted early last week, but prior to that I took quite a bit of time to devote to researching all of the candidates that were playing a role in this election. Not only did I study up on their views, voting records, and such, I also felt it was important to pray for each of them, that God would guide whomever was in a position of leadership in our country. So, my prayer tonight (and for the next four years and onward) is that God blesses and guides our leaders at local, state, and presidential levels. I pray God blesses our nation and everyone works together to make this a prosperous and thriving nation. Whether or not you voted for or agree with the candidates who won in all of the elections, if you are a believer, I do hope that you will take the time to pray for the future of your country and the leaders who are working to  guide our future as a nation. 

Mitt Romney belongs in the dog house, not the White House!

I'll preface the below post by saying that I typically do not post politically fueled items on my blog. I like to keep my blog posts fun and light-hearted. I view blogging as a great way to unite individuals of 

of all religious, and political backgrounds so that they can enjoy my posts and have a good time! That being said, there are just some things that I feel merit a good blog post, and my stance on Mitt Romney is one of them! I respect that everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions. The one below is mine:

SNL's take on Mitt Romney! (Hilarious!)

Choose the Dog House, NOT the White House for Romney!

(This sums up my view on things!)

I love this hilarious SNL skit about Romney above (click the above link to view). It really cracked me up! In the 80's, Romney strapped his  family dog in a carrier to the roof of his car for a 12 hour trip. Pardon my French, but what kind of twisted fuckery is that? It's a wonder he wasn't in a wreck and that the car didn't roll over on the poor dog; he would have been crushed to death! When Romney was asked why he did that, he tried to justify his abusive actions by claiming that the dog liked the "fresh air". I'd say that's one heck of a pathetic excuse for one heck of a pathetic politician! My dogs like fresh air too, Mitt, but they get that on a nice long walk at the park: NOT strapped to the roof of a car where insects, debris, car emissions, and God knows what else can fly into their faces and harm them. Never mind how terrified that poor dog must have been for a solid 12 hour trip like that! REAL caring person, Romney is! (NOT!) If he cares that little about man's best friend, I'm terrified to see how he would run our country. And lets not forget his flip flop stances on EVERYTHING! This guy can't make up his mind on what his beliefs are, which tells me flat out how easily swayed he will be by others. If you don't stand up for something, you'll sacrifice your dignity and fall for anything. Ridiculous! I strongly urge you lovelies to do your research and please choose not to give him your support! I wouldn't trust Mitt Romney around my 3 best fluffy friends, handling my health care, or anything else for that matter... so there's no way in HELL I'd trust him to run my country! No Thanks! He treats his money better than he treats man's best friend! That says a lot about a person to me..and in this case, it says nothing positive! http://www.dogsagainstromney.com/

Hey Romney, Mykelti rides inside the car! So do her brother and sister! They all wear seat belt harnesses to keep them safe...(perhaps you should wear a harness around your mouth and see if that helps you in the future! ;) )

What Happens to a Dog on a Car Roof Traveling 50 MPH for 12 Hours?

Back in 2007, ABC News posed that question to physicist Dr. W.J. Llope, a senior faculty fellow at Rice University in the department of physics and astronomy. Llope replied:”What happens to a dog in this situation is precisely what would happen to any of us in the same situation: Trapped in a box for 12 hours would be no one’s idea of comfortable.”

“Dr. Russell Cumming, a professor of aerospace engineering at California Polytechnic State University, got a little more technical. “At that speed, assuming sea level conditions, the poor little dog would have about 10 pounds per square foot pressing against his head. He would constantly feel a little less than 3 pounds pressing on his head for the entire trip. The windshield would help, but boy that would get tired.”

Nobel Prize-winning physicist Douglas Osheroff of physics at Stanford University said the dog crate on top of the car would change the air flow around the vehicle. “Beyond a certain velocity, the air flow becomes turbulent,” said Osheroff. “The airflow isn’t going to be laminar,” which means it won’t have a uniform distribution.”

Cumming said that’s bad news for Seamus. “Chances are the windshield would only protect the front of the dog, but the air flowing around the windshield would buffet the side of the dog — that would be tiring. My wife’s a vet, and she would be more worried by the dehydration of the dog’s eyes under those conditions.’” In addition to dehydration, fatigue and fright, Seamus was strapped on top of a car for 12 hours with limited or no bathroom breaks — a condition that was highlighted in the Boston Globe article.

“A brown liquid was dripping down the back window, payback from an Irish setter who’d been riding on the roof in the wind for hours,” the article said. After his son noticed the liquid, Romney pulled the car over and hosed down Seamus at a gas station before putting him back into the crate on top of the car and continuing on with the drive.”

Five years later, this animal-cruelty story still won’t die. It has legs.~
