Tea Time and 29

Royal Albert (Old Country Roses)

Today was my birthday, so I wanted to share a bit of that in today's post. For my birthday, I received my china dream come true: an Old Country Roses set from Royal Albert! It actually took up residence in our home on the 4th of July when Nick took me to pick out the patten I wanted, but being a more traditional person, I didn't allow myself to use it until my official birthday today! :) To go along with the beautiful china, I broke out the sample of Harney and Son's, "Birthday Tea" blend that I purchased with my last order. I was saving it especially for my birthday to have something to look forward to.

This is a unique blend to say the least. Upon opening the package I thought I was really going to dislike this tea because it smells a bit reminiscent of children's cough syrup. After brewing it however, everything steeped into a wonderful, fruity tea with a gorgeous red color. So, don't let the initial scent before brewing throw you off to this tea if you are wanting to try it. Once steeped, it's quite lovely. The ingredients are listed as: Hibiscus, rosehips, decaf Ceylon, raspberry flavor, blueberry flavor, pomegranate flavor, vanilla flavor, spearmint, peppermint, marigold petals, cornflowers, natural and artificial flavors.

Overall, I'm enjoying this tea. I'm currently winding down the day with another cup of it. While it is good, there are others prefer more, so this won't be a repurchase for me right now. This would make a cute addition to a birthday gift for any tea lover though. The full size comes in a fun, colorful tin with 20 sachets and you can order it from the Harney and Sons website. This sample I used is loose-leaf, which I prefer.
The ride on the way to dinner earlier. One of my favorite things about Summer,  is the lush green trees that line the roads. (I wasn't driving.)
Birthday shenanigans with Nick.❤️

WiggleButt Wednesday

For WiggleButt Wednesday, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite pictures from this past year.

This was taken from this past Easter. Since we were on a blogging hiatus at the time, I thought I'd share the cuteness now! :)

Ranger & Mykelti
All three senior kitties are doing well too.
The Aussies share the same birthday, exactly one year apart, January 27th. This was taken on Ranger's 4th & Mykelti's 3rd birthdays.
Best buddies!

Three Dog Night

A Three Dog Night is a term coined by Inuit & Ranchers (origins are a bit sketchy on who coined the phrase first.)  who were working out on the range/etc and would need to sleep with their dogs at night to keep warm when the temperature dropped. A one dog night was chilly, a two dog night, cold, and a three dog night....well, REALLY cold! Ergo, the expression developed into something along the lines of, "Last night was so cold, it was a Three Dog Night!". After all, what's better on a cool night to keep you toasty other than three fluffy, happy dogs on your bed to keep you warm? Nothing! Even the band, "Three Dog Night" named themselves after the expression! Since the temperatures have dipped a bit around here lately, I can definitely relate, seeing as I have three fluffy, friendly puppies that just LOVE to share the bed and keep me warm at night when they're allowed up lol...

This looks familiar. ;)
It's apparently a "Three Dog Night" at my home tonight! My dogs were also kind enough to offer a complimentary linen turn-down service while I was in the shower. Isn't they way they re-arranged my bed just lovely lol?

I love how they smile like they're so proud of themselves for being up there!

PetFlow's "Spoiled Rotten Box" - Reviews!

I was recently contacted by PetFlow to see if I was interested in sampling items in their new monthly subscription service for dogs, the "Spoiled Rotten Box". I'm quite happy that I took them up on the offer! After taking the time to research each item and let my dogs test them out, I was very pleased with the quality of the products chosen for their box, as well as the customer service. The "Spoiled Rotten Box" is $24.99 a month, and they have a box for dogs and box for cats, which I think is a nice since I own both. The products included in each box add up to around a $40 value, and I appreciated that the ones included in this box were made in the US.

I wanted to make sure that the dogs and I both had a chance to really review the quality of the products, so I decided to do four mini-reviews that go into more details on the specific items. I've linked all of the videos below for those of you who are interested in ordering a "Spoiled Rotten Box" for your furbaby! Their website is: http://www.petflow.com/spoiled

Get your hair did! (My dogs are obsessed with the blow dryer!)

I thought this post would be appropriate since I'm going to get my hair done later today! The sweet girl I normally go to was booked solid when I called their salon well over a week and a half ago trying to make an appointment. So, I decided to try out another salon my friend recommended, that is actually closer to me! Please say a little prayer that they do a good job! (I just want more highlights and my layers redone...nothing crazy). I'm always a little bit leery about letting new people touch my hair, so I'm hoping this goes well! (My friend's hair always looks amazing, so I trust her recommendation!)

Why did I want that appointment so badly? Well you see, my birthday is on Sunday. Even if I can't do a darn thing about getting older, I can still make sure I look nice! I refuse...REFUSE to turn 27 (ahh I feel ancient) looking anything less than fabulous! I truly believe that women should be classy and beautiful at all stages of their lives! I don't know about you lovelies, but one thing that always makes me feel beautiful and happy is getting my hair done once in a while!

There are several other members of my family that also LOVE getting their hair done too: My Australian Shepherds. Yeah, you read that correctly....my dogs are FREAKS lol! They LOVE bath time, they LOVE hair dryers, they LOVE getting their fur brushed....Love it! (Ranger even enjoys having his nails trimmed and dremmeled smooth! (Mykelti has ticklish feet, so that's the only grooming thing she despises...even the new puppy is better about having her nails done!) Ranger and Mykelti always come running up to me anytime they hear me break out the hairdryer to style my hair....they LOVE the hairdryer! Mykelti is especially enamored with the hair dryer and will pester me incessantly until I blow dry her fur too! (She does the same thing with lip gloss, body spray, makeup, and so on. Anything that I, she wants to be right in the middle of the action too! If I put something on, she hounds me until I let her see it or put a pinch on her. She's such a little ham! I know she's a dog, but if it's possible for a dog to be a "girly girl", Mykelti is one!) Even Rosie is now showing interest in the hair dryer since she's seen how into it the Aussies are lol.

Here are two video clips of my weird dogs and just how enthusiastic they are about hair dryers!

(The song starts off a little loud, but listen closely to the lyrics: Hilarious!)

Ranger equally enjoys the hair dryer! I've linked a video below of him being goofy while I was grooming him before a therapy visit. I'm not sure why my Aussies enjoy the hair dryer so much, but it definitely makes life easier on me when it comes time to groom them for therapy visits and special events! Rosie seems to be following in their footsteps too...hopefully she will be an easy dog to groom as well! :)

Happy first year, Mykelti

This past weekend marked the 1 yr anniversary of bringing home my sweet, sweet Mykelti girl! I still find it hard to believe I've had this little fluff ball has been in my life for an entire year now! She couldn't be a sweeter dog! She has already passed her Canine Good Citizen test, and is on her way to becoming a Registered Therapy Dog like her big brother. I am so blessed to have her! :)

I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures of Mykelti over the past year with all of you! Enjoy the cuteness overload! (These aren't in any particular order; I haven't had enough coffee yet for that today!)

Her first bath in the tub like a big girl...of course Ranger watched over her the entire time!
Cute as ever, sans a few chompers!
 Posing in her little dress

 Sweet dogs!
Mykelti after her first ever therapy event. At only 4 months she was an incredibly well behaved therapy dog in training! Her first event was the Arthritis Walk last June. She was so good!
Posing with her big brother and sister
She still sits on my shoulder like this...did I mention she weighs 40lbs now? (Sorry, the picture is a bit blurry!)
One of the first pictures I ever took of her. On the car ride home to Memphis from Missouri
 Her first chew toy!
 Sleepy baby Aussie!
Mykelti loved her big brother from the start!
Learning a sit-stay during her first week at home
Sleeping on the good pillows...so spoiled!
Mykelti thought the stuffed puppy was her mommy
She is still just as obsessed with tennis balls...
 Always smiling!
 6 months old
She has one split blue/hazel green eye and one hazel brown eye
 Frisbee puppy!
Mykelti and her big brother, Ranger have the exact same birthday one year apart...January 27th.

 They all love car rides!
My sweet little Canine Good Citizen on the day she passed her test. This pup passed on the first try!
Mykelti's first Christmas (they were good sports about letting me dress them up!)

The first picture that the breeder ever sent me of Mykelti. (Her litter mates were cutie pies too!) She was my favorite based on the picture alone, but because I was looking for a working dog, I tried not to let that sway me at all. When I went to Missouri, I temperament tested two litters of puppies. The very last dog that I checked was Mykelti. She wound up being the perfect puppy for the job and the one that I had fell in love with from the start!<3

 8 weeks old...such a goofball!
Learning how to do a down-stay at 8 weeks old
They remind me of an old married couple when they hold paws :)
Despite the cone and being spayed, she still had a sweet smile on her face!
Klepto puppy...neither the blanket nor the treat were hers!
Mykelti and I at the Millington Pet Fair. It was her second event as a Therapy dog-in-training. She was such a good girl!

Mykelti and I at the Ascent Children's Medical Fall de Grais Festival in Arkansas last Fall. She adores children and was such a lovebug that day!

Sweet little therapy pup in training entertained the children of West Memphis, Arkansas for Ascent Children Health Care Services. I took this after we got home that night.
She's a Cosmopolitan kind of pup! (What we do during tornado warnings!)
 6 months old
At 4 months old she figured out how to turn the bathtub on and how that if she dug at the train enough, she could collapse it and have a bubble bath. At 4 months old this puppy flooded my bathroom! She's too smart for her own good sometimes... (Did I mention that she loves water???)
 Playing Djembe with me!
Ranger has adored his baby sister from the get go!
 Sleepy baby
As a puppy, Mykelti figured out how to camouflage herself with Ranger's rear-end!
 She loves flowers
