Nail of the Day: OPI "The World Is Not Enough" (Skyfall Collection)

Nail of the Day:
OPI's "The World Is Not Enough" (Skyfall Collection)

You can purchase this shade at your local Ulta. To achieve this look, I applied one coat of OPI's Base Coat, two coats of , "The World is Not Enough", then topped with Seche Vite's Quick Dry Top Coat, and Nicole for OPI's Drip Drops.

Not my best work, but overall I'm really loving this color so far!

26 Moments That Restored Our Faith in Humanity This Year

In light of the horrific, heartbreaking tragedies that occurred this week, I thought it might ease things up just a bit to share this link I found with all of you. Hope it puts a little smile on your face today!

Exhausted...

Exhausted. Drained. Worn Down. Tired.

All of those adjectives accurately describe me right now; I am so tired! I'd really love it if my body gave me a bit of a break and a bit of energy...that's seriously all I want for Christmas! Lately, I've felt like I've been running on empty, with absolutely no energy for even the things I typically love and enjoy. Even the gym doesn't perk me up (usually, a nice work out gives me a lot of energy). This most recent round of Pleurisy has really kicked my tail! I'll be so, so thankfully when I recover and bounce back again. Hopefully I'll  be back to 100% soon....and before Christmas would be grand! In the mean time however, my apologies for the lack of creative content in my blog or lack of the YouTube videos I love making....I've just honestly been exhausted!

Ten Things Tuesday

1. Remember the fire-alarm schenanigans of recent times and how horrid they were? Well, I had finally victoriously resolved the issue of the chirping alarm in my master bedroom recently, only to wake up this morning and hear the fire alarm in the Crate Room chirping away. (Expletives ensued!) Now, I need to change that one too! Thankfully, the ceiling in that room is not vaulted, and the alarm should be easily reached with a step-ladder...looking on the bright side!

2. Last night I checked my email and saw that a package was delivered to my door (according to tracking/conformation information.) Great.....haha yeah, Not! For the umteenthhundreddamntime, there was no package at my front or back door, nor one in my mailbox. Yet again, the dishonest fuck of a postal worker stole my package and marked it as "delivered". So yet again, I had to call the company to tell them I never received my package, filed ANOTHER complaint with the postal service that will undoubtedly go unresolved again, and finally out of sheer frustration, re-routed the address for ALL of my packages to a relatives home, so I will hopefully get them in the future and not have to deal with the idiot postal worker stealing them. Humm I find it REALLY suspicious that it's only the beauty-related packages/magazines that are stolen, and never anything else...yup! (Please note that they were stolen, even with a sign on my front porch that says, "Smile, You're on Camera!"). I am seriously at my wits end!

3. I just decorated stockings to mail out with my Secret Santa's gift. Gotta love some glitter pens!

4. Yesterday, I finally finished decorating my Christmas tree! Yay! (I've never put it up this late before, but I'll blame this one on Pleurisy and just not feeling well.)

5. I need to spend some serious time folding laundry this week!

6. I also need to go to the grocery store....

7. Tomorrow is my niece's 18th birthday.(I still can't believe she's going to be 18!) I can't wait to spend some time with her celebrating!

8. Absolutely loving Korres "Jasmine" lip butter right now!

9.Next week, my "fun" goal in my spare time is to watch as many Christmas movies as I possibly can!

10. Coffee Mate's "Pecan Pralines" seasonal coffee creamer is Ahhh-mazing! (Go try it!)

How To Unclog and Clean Your Sink and Shower Drains! (EASY! You'll never buy drain cleaner again!)

I hope you all find this tutorial helpful! Yesterday, the plumber who came out to work on some of the drains in my home was kind enough to teach me how to unclog the drains myself so that I wouldn't have to waste any more money on liquid drain cleaners that just don't work! What he taught me was so simple and easy, that I wanted to pass it along to all of you! (Especially you ladies with longer hair like I have!). I made sure that I practiced this a few times with him here so that I knew how to do it properly, before I filmed this.

What you'll need:
-Flashlight
-Phillips Head Screwdriver (Preferably a magnetic one)
-Needle Nose Pliers
-Paper Towels
-Plastic Bag (Target, Wal-Mart, any plastic bag will do.)

Isn't little Rosie looking quite festive in her Santa bandanna?

Dreaming of a White Christmas, perhaps? ;)

Three Dog Night

A Three Dog Night is a term coined by Inuit & Ranchers (origins are a bit sketchy on who coined the phrase first.)  who were working out on the range/etc and would need to sleep with their dogs at night to keep warm when the temperature dropped. A one dog night was chilly, a two dog night, cold, and a three dog night....well, REALLY cold! Ergo, the expression developed into something along the lines of, "Last night was so cold, it was a Three Dog Night!". After all, what's better on a cool night to keep you toasty other than three fluffy, happy dogs on your bed to keep you warm? Nothing! Even the band, "Three Dog Night" named themselves after the expression! Since the temperatures have dipped a bit around here lately, I can definitely relate, seeing as I have three fluffy, friendly puppies that just LOVE to share the bed and keep me warm at night when they're allowed up lol...

This looks familiar. ;)
It's apparently a "Three Dog Night" at my home tonight! My dogs were also kind enough to offer a complimentary linen turn-down service while I was in the shower. Isn't they way they re-arranged my bed just lovely lol?

I love how they smile like they're so proud of themselves for being up there!

FragranceNet Haul: Perfume & HairCare: Innocent, Vince Camuto for Women,...

If you love perfume and amazing hair care products as much as I do, be sure to check out my most recent haul/review on some products I picked up from FragranceNet

Picture of the goodies I got on sale!

During their recent sales (BlackFriday/CyberMonday), I ordered two perfumes and two hair care products. They had the absolute best prices out of every single website I looked at. I was also able to use coupon/promo codes in addition to the sales, AND got free shipping, so needless to say, I was very happy with the value they offer on their products. I also appreciated that they have a secure website, which made me more comfortable ordering through them. Shipping was FAST too! I just had the free standard shipping, and my package arrived within three days. They also included quite a few free samples, so I thought that was a nice touch as well. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend ordering through FragranceNet for perfume/haircare items! I will definitely reorder through them again. If you sign up for their email list, they are also terrific about sending out promo codes that you can use towards a discount on your order.

Items mentioned in the video:

-Marrakesh by marrakesh x original leave-in treatment & detangler with hemp & argan oils
-Vince Camuto (for Women) by Vince Camuto eau de parfum spray

Quote of the Day

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

I adore Kelly Clarkson; her voice is absolutely amazing! This is my favorite version of this song, because it really allows her vocals to shine through. Enjoy!

The Fire Detector From HELL!!!!

Exhibit A.: The Fire Alarm From Hell

***Please Read***
Warning: Unlike my typical filming, today's vlog involves lots of strong language and cursing! As a matter of fact, my swear jar is now filled to the top! Yup, I'm that fed up. This early in the morning, I am doing good and practicing quite a great deal of self control only choosing to curse instead of using this alarm as target practice!

Video:
The Some Detector from HELL!

Fire Alarm, Fire Detector, Smoke Detector...whatever you like to call it, lets preface this by saying: I am at my wits end!

My realty company has yet to fix this issue, the alarm is on a vaulted ceiling that my 4'11.5" self is nowhere near the capabilities of reaching, and I have thrown everything (phone books included) in an attempt to silence this defective piece of crap into submission. NOTHING has worked! I've even stood on a step ladder and beat it with a Louisville slugger and a grabber thingy. Not only was I unable to make it quit chirping, or knock if off the wall to silence it....it is apparently ATTACHED to the blasted wall and wired quite intricately into a system throughout the entire house. Just peachy! No matter how much you beat it with a baseball bat, it still keeps on truckin! Nothing I've tried is working to silence it. This fire alarm is like the Energizer Bunny....it just keeps going, and going, and going! Well, I've had enough! As far as I'm concerned, this alarm can just chirp its merry way straight to hell this morning!

My swear jar is overflowing. I have Pleurisy. I haven't slept in a week. My dogs are going crazy from the chirping. And this STUPID alarm will not shut up! Ladies and gentlemen, I'm only moments away from quite literally turning this thing into range practice if this alarm won't quit squawking!

This reminds me a bit of the episode of "Friends" when Phoebe has a similar predicament with her smoke detector.
Maybe, at least one of you will enjoy a laugh at my expense and find a bit of humor in this, since I am all out of ideas on what to do! At this point, I've decided that my next step will involve calling the fire department (non emergency) to see if they will come out fix it if this isn't resolved today. My realty company is absolutely on the "naughty" list this year! This incessant, ear-piercing chirping has gone on for nearly a week. Did I mention that I've had an ear surgery on both ears and that high pitched noises absolutely pain me? Yup! I am NOT in a peachy mood this morning. I have turned in a written notice for repair that the realty company has yet to respond to. I've also called every single day to check on the status of getting a repairman out to fix it....nothing, no response! So I've devised a plan that I will implement later today if this is not resolved asap. I've decided that if this isn't repaired today, I will be calling and emailing the realty company EVERY SINGLE TIME this thing chirps. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Then maybe, just maybe that will light a fire under their tails and make them send someone out to fix it.

On a more serious note, not only is this annoying, it's also dangerous and a safety hazard to not have a working fire alarm.

So, that's how my morning's started out so far. I'm thinking a little retail therapy is in order later today to calm my nerves! ;) Hope you are all having a bit of a better morning than the one I'm currently experiencing. Have a great day, my lovelies!

Cat-Friend vs Dog-Friend

This cracked me up today! Since I own both cats and dogs, I love how I can relate to this!

John Legend - Jesus, Oh What A Wonderful Child

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! Today I'm trying to motivate myself to get a little decorating done, so I thought it was appropriate to listen to Christmas music. This particular song is one of my very favorite Christmas songs. I thought I'd share it with all of you today to get you into the Christmas spirit! One of my favorite memories of college involved singing this song in our Gospel Choir at Christmas time...so much fun! :)

PetFlow's "Spoiled Rotten Box" - Reviews!

I was recently contacted by PetFlow to see if I was interested in sampling items in their new monthly subscription service for dogs, the "Spoiled Rotten Box". I'm quite happy that I took them up on the offer! After taking the time to research each item and let my dogs test them out, I was very pleased with the quality of the products chosen for their box, as well as the customer service. The "Spoiled Rotten Box" is $24.99 a month, and they have a box for dogs and box for cats, which I think is a nice since I own both. The products included in each box add up to around a $40 value, and I appreciated that the ones included in this box were made in the US.

I wanted to make sure that the dogs and I both had a chance to really review the quality of the products, so I decided to do four mini-reviews that go into more details on the specific items. I've linked all of the videos below for those of you who are interested in ordering a "Spoiled Rotten Box" for your furbaby! Their website is: http://www.petflow.com/spoiled
